Love in 2 Dimensions

A Japanese man has been rallying people to sign petitions and petition courts to allow for marriage between cartoon characters and humans stating:

"I am no longer interested in three dimensions. I would even like to become a resident of the two-dimensional world"..."However, that seems impossible with present-day technology. Therefore, at the very least, would it be possible to legally authorise marriage with a two-dimensional character?"

The man has received over 1000 signatures to his petition, although he hasn't given out his own name or contact information, he seems very dedicated to his cause. And, considering marriage is on the decline in Japan as well as being redefined worldwide, maybe this isn't such a bad idea, I mean Super Man is Hot...
