A pair of mysterious “skeleton-Oscar” statues showed up in two famed Los Angeles locations on Thursday morning: One at the peak of (hipster hiking hell) Runyon Canyon, near the Hollywood sign, and another in the parking lot of Mel’s Diner (a late night hangover heaven), just steps from the corner of Hollywood and Highland — where the Oscars are actually held.
“Beauty is one snip away,” read a plaque near the Hollywood sign version.
“Beauty is skin deep,” said the one near Mel’s. Botha are plaques are stamped with D*FACE, and we know for a fact this isn't a fake. We love are loving the new piece fellas. Via JetSet
UPDATE: The pieces were both removed by the city.
