Banksy vs. Robbo | Round 2

So we all know that the ever-infamous Banksy has graced London's Regent Canal's with 4 new pieces of Banskydom. But the real story was what he covered up in the process. Street artists loved the Banksy reworking of the 25 year old ROBBO piece. Graff writer's, however, did not. They got all up in arms because some fossil of a graffiti piece was covered up, not by another piece (which might be considered acceptable), but by a paste-up (a huge "no no"). Duh duh duhhhh!
Well, feeding off the new life that Banksy brought to the piece, which was long dead and forgotten, ROBBO went back to "his" spot and repainted it. Instead of totally covering up the piece, in true graffiti writer style, ROBBO chose to rework the piece to better suit him. So he gives us "King Robbo" done in archaic lettering with little finesse, it makes you wonder what ROBBO has been doing in those 25 years since he painted this last piece. Definitely not working on his technique, because technically this thing is a piece of shit. Way to cover up the masterful techniques used to make the Banksy piece art, and introduce some masking tape and shitty letter work in its place. I don't understand the bad vibes between street artists and writer's, its just old stereotypes that are continuing to be propagated today. We are all just mere vandals, cant we get along?

MUST SEE | The Ghost Village Project
Art. Genius. Nick Walker.

This is Nick Walker's work from Art Basel in Miami, DUH! He calls these collages of stencils, "mood boards" and he had done a couple in the past, this one is my favorite. We are huge Nick Walker fans here at LF and so here are some pics for your enjoyment, even if its minute late (Holiday Bloggaphobia). See more detailed pics after the jump...

Oil Money Whips | Gemballa x Ferrari MIG-U1
To the informed car enthusiats this collaboration may seem rather odd. The German made, American-run Porsche tuning powerhouse, Gemballa has made a new super "ridiculous" car. And no, its not a Porsche. The Ferrari MIG-U1 is a Middle East auto show exclusive, and we can see why. This car is aimed at the super-rich Oil benefactors, that flaunt there money, with gold Bentley's and diamond lieu's. No info has been released to date, I guess because we have no need to know, we cannot afford one, even in our wildest dreams, we wouldn't waste that much money on a car. Oh, wait yes we would, in a heartbeat. See more after the doors swing open...

Sound | Gibson Jimmy Page 'Number Two' Les Paul
The Les Paul Standard that still remains the industry standard is hard to come by, however, the Gibson Custom Shop has announced the Jimmy Page “Number Two” Les Paul for those who significantly love the impacting sound of electric music. The faded, weathered look, as it is with every Les Paul Standard, the Jimmy Page “Number Two” Les Paul has a beautiful sunburst finish with a red element that fades to a dusky amber-brown, along with a clear serial number dating it to 1959. Produced in a limited edition of only 325, with two levels of aging: the first 25 instruments are to be aged by vintage-reproduction master Tom Murphy then inspected, played and hand signed and numbered by Jimmy Page personally. An additional 100 guitars will be given the extensive aging treatment, and 200 will be finished to Gibson’s VOS specs. Apart from being the guitar of choice for rock stars, this musical instrument having the vintage feel with more oomph will stay with the generations to come. (via)
